A well appointed and relaxing home from home with glorious views and easy access to the mountains and lakes. We stayed in Pinemarten lodge and found it extremely comfortable, wonderfully light and welcoming.

Every morning when we got up and every evening when we returned to Pinemarten, we were transfixed yet again by the beautiful, ever-changing view. It really is something special. But the lodge itself is special as well, because it has been decorated and equipped to a very high standard and is extremely comfortable.

The scenery is fantastic and so is the lodge. Beautiful comfortable furniture in the lounge with large double glazed sliding doors enabling the view to come indoors! A fully fitted 5 star kitchen with every piece of equipment you could want. The dining area is large and even the place mats are slate from the local area.

The view alone was worth coming to Portnellan for, and the lovely chalet was the icing on the cake. Such attention to detail, from quality bed linen to comprehensive instructions with maps for places to visit. Ideally placed for touring the area, Loch Lomond, Callendar and Iveraray were all within easy driving distance. The view from Pinemarten was breath taking and constantly changing, from pink skies at sunset to rainbows on a rainy evening. We also enjoyed watching the abundant bird life including Whooper swans on the nearby loch. We hope to be back in the near future.

Loch Fyne is a nationally recognised fresh fish restaurant and a great place to taste traditional Scottish fare.

Situated in Tyndrum, just 6 miles from Crianlarich, the Green Welly Stop has become famous for its vast selection of whiskey. Be sure to stock up on your favourite tipple or choose from the quality range of homemade goodies and treats. There is also a popular restaurant for those who want a rest between bike rides.
