The Snow Star

L’Etoile des Neiges, which means ‘the snow star’ is a family-friendly holiday park in France at the foot of the slopes, just 200 metres from the pretty mountain village of Saint Jean Montclar in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

The village has a ski resort, toboggan runs and an ice-skating rink and the skiing area covers two beautiful valleys with over 30 miles of varied slopes suitable for all levels. There's also a ski school for beginners of all ages and a snow park for freestyle skiing practice and snow-boarding. 

L’Etoile des Neiges is next to the Mercantour National Park and the picturesque Serre-Ponçon, the largest lake in France. This is the ideal choice for families with children looking for a French Alps holiday. Alpine chalets and log cabins 

L’Etoile des Neiges has a choice of cosy log cabins and chalets with spectacular views of the mountains, some of which are set beside a stream in a lovely natural wooded area. 

Each of the pretty chalets and log cabins has up to three bedrooms with cosy heating and extra insulation to ensure you are warm. There's plenty of outside space for parking your car, making snowmen and building igloos and toboggan runs!

Restaurant with panoramic views

Enjoy breathtaking views of the magnificent mountains while you enjoy sumptuous mouthwatering cuisine at the restaurant with its panoramic windows and rustic timber beams. In the evening, the restaurant serves a fireside menu of Alpine specialities including fondue and tartiflette for the full Alpine experience. 

There’s also a Pizzeria with a varied menu and you can choose to either eat in or take away, and for freshly made bread and pastries, the bar and restaurant will make them to order for you! 

The atmospheric log cabin-style bar is made of whole tree trunks and planks of old larch and opens onto the billiard room, with a library featuring books in English, Dutch and French. Warm yourselves by the open fire near the TV or simply enjoy a cocktail or two in the beautiful surroundings. 

Wellness spa treatments

Relax in style at the wellness spa which features whirlpool and hydro-massage baths, Hammam (steam therapy) and a sauna plus a choice of relaxing beauty treatments including massage, facials and manicures.

Winter ski breaks with children

Travel to the resort

The quickest way to travel to L’Etoile des Neiges is by flying to Marseille Marignane, which takes around two hours from London, and finishing your journey by car, which should take a further one hour and forty five minutes.
